WWF x Funk Trunk: Sustainable Journey Collection

Did you know that there is a new type of pollution that raised alarms in different countries? In fact, this pollution has already entered our seas and oceans, and is continuously killing our marine mammals ever since. This is the plastic pollution, and we humans are the ones who produced this new type of pollution...again.

|| "A total of 8 million metric tonnes leak into the ocean each year, a figure which could easily double in 10 years (World Wildlife Fund, 2017)." ||

The single-use of plastics is the main antagonist in this type of pollution. Every time we purchase items from stores or boutiques, we receive single-use plastic bags to carry the items. After that, what usually happens is that we throw the plastic right away without knowing what are the effects of just throwing it.

Imagine how many plastic bags you receive from buying everyday, and multiply it to millions of people who also purchase and receive single-use plastic bags everyday. Can you now see the problem?

With the growing plastic problem, different movements and advocacy from various organizations were formed. One of the organizations continuously making efforts to inform and educate people is the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). In the Philippines, the #AyokoNgPlastik movement was formed as part of the organization's advocacy to lessen and in the long run eliminate the use of plastics by using sustainable products as alternatives.

With Funk Trunk's environmental mission and WWF-Philippines' advocacy against single-use plastic, a collaboration was made to promote sustainable living through the Sustainable Journey Collection. The launching of these limited edition and sustainably-sourced wood products will not only help WWF and Funk Trunk to continue their environmental missions, but will also help every individual start their eco-friendly, plastic-free, and sustainable journey.

Change starts with you. Start your sustainable journey now with WWF x Funk Trunk and end the use of single-use plastic.
